Traditionally, baskets have been crafted from natural materials, but they can also be made from a wide range of materials, including rope, fabric, wool, paper and raffia. The technique I use is called coiling, where I wrap hand dyed wool or cotton around a rope or raffia to create each piece. Though it is a slow process, it is also meditative, resulting in a beautiful stylish and unique product.
